Is it the intent of ESRI to eventually reconcile user's global accounts (like for access to GeoNet) with ArcGIS Online accounts?  As an admin responsible for both, I would hope that the two communities will merge and users can enjoy the simplicity of a single ESRI identity.  There has been some confusion when speaking in terms of "organization" between the two; both internally at our company and when communicating with ESRI staff and support.  Thank you in advance...

Hi David,

Maybe this will help: Register existing Esri Global Account—Help | ArcGIS

"As of July 2014, Esri Global Account has been renamed to Esri Account. You no longer need to register your existing account for ArcGIS Online. It is automatically an ArcGIS public account. If you have been invited to join an organization by using an existing account, you can sign in with your existing Esri Account and it automatically becomes an ArcGIS organizational account. You no longer need to register your existing account before joining the organization."
