Attribute not displaying in table

I have a web service layer in a web map which when I open the attribute table the attributes are hidden. The attributes are there because they display in the web map, they are just hidden in the attribute table. How do I unhide the attributes? I am opening the map in map viewer

In the New Map Viewer, click on the setting icon in the table. This will open a list of fields that you can turn on or off.

 

In Map Viewer Classic, open the hamburger menu on the right side of the table and select "Show/Hide Columns"

In Classic, when you configure the popup, changing the display fields in the Configure Attributes window will affect which ones show up in the table view.

I get how to turn fields on and off but it's the attributes which are not showing.
