I am still trying to figure out the best way to clone items from one portal to another. I have now managed to create a Python script that is able to clone basically all the different types of content within the portal except Map Image Layer and Vector Tile Services. I have not found any resources and the arcgis function clone_items() just copies by referencing back to the source portal when I insert a Map Image Layer or Vector Tile Services which is not what I want. I need the same Map Image Layer on the target portal as on the source portal but it needs to be hosted on the target server.
Is there really no way to do that?
