I understand you can change the device name if you are using an external GPS receiver, but I cannot figure out a way to change the GPS receiver name for Collector data on a tablet or phone. ESRIGNSS_RECEIVER just saves the model of the device to the metadata. If you have more than one phone with the same model you cannot tell which one sent the data unless you add a field for self-reporting of this information. I tested this with my family members' phones and devices using a tree database we created for our neighborhood.
I understand not using the MAC address of the device for privacy concerns, but is there no way to configure devices to report that they are different devices of the same model?
