We have an enterprise GIS system and also an enterprise customer billing and management system. The issue is that these two are totally independent of each other and the data is inconsistent. Both systems have a Location code which is supposed to be the unique identifier in both systems. The CMB system is built on sql as is the GIS databases. We are trying to get the data from the CMB into our meter layer in the GIS. The fields would be Owner, address, meter number, Location Number. We can run a query on the CMB data and get a table, then join that to the GIS and get the updates that way, but wit hover 60,000 customers this is a huge job to try and keep on top of. I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this and if so what process did you use to tackle this.

We utilize linked servers and views to access our CIS and CMMS systems within GIS. There is a performance impact accessing tables through a linked server, but having access to CIS and CMMS in GIS has been worth it.
