Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and initially tried searching but could not find a solution to my problem so I thought I would post here. I would really appreciate some help!

Problem:
I'm running ArcGIS 9.3 Student Edition ("ArcEdit") and my senior project involved modeling some hydrology data (for a TMDL study ~ majoring in Civil Engineering w/ emphasis in Environmental Engineering). I have experience with HEC-HMS but my project mentor suggested modeling with GeoHMS to streamline the data with my GIS software. I downloaded Geo from the military website and tried to install it but I get an error message midway through. The initial error states something along the lines of "ApFramework9 not found", then it tries to install ApFramework. From there it continues and gives me an error while searching for "WaterUtils" before it finally cancels the install stating "Error setting registry value for PreLoadVBA: Access is denied".

I have emailed my GIS professors and one suggested that it might have something to do with our student editions being ArcEdit instead of ArcInfo. The data on GeoHMS doesn't specify. Does anyone know what the issue may be and how I may resolve it? I did install the Spatial Analyst tools with my copy as it was explicitly stated that we would be using it in class so directions were provided. My copy is current and registered (not version 10 but otherwise new etc).

I searched my install files and could not find any sub-folder of WaterUtils so I suspect that may be the issue but I cannot find a way/resource to get the WaterUtils.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since our student editions do not entitle us to tech support via ESRI! Thank you!

@bdbacca,

Everything you'll need is laid out in the ArcHydro forum, but in short you should obtain and use the latest development build from the ESRI maintained ftp site. Your ArcGIS 9.3 ArcEditor (Single Use) version will work fine for your study.

Read through the forum and post back if you have any install questions.
