If your kids are coming to San Diego with you for UC, make sure to take them to the Esri Kids Fair! Different from KiddieCorp Childcare, Esri Kids Fair introduces GIS through educational and hands-on activities while you spend time with your young ones.

This year’s theme is weather, and there will be a variety of activities for your kids to participate in, including:

  • Creating a weather map based on forecasts
  • Learning about seasons
  • Predicting temperatures
  • Mapping a hurricane using coordinates
  • Building an ArcGIS StoryMaps story about renewable energy
  • And more!

Kids will earn a special prize after completing six age-appropriate activities and filling up their passports with stickers. This should take 1-2 hours total. Please note that the activities do not need to be completed all at once—families can come and go throughout the week.

Ages 5 to 14 are welcome to participate. A parent or guardian must be present at all times. Registration is available on-site at no additional cost.

  • Location:
    • Marriott Marquis Marina San Diego
  • Hours:
    • Tuesday, July 16 | 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday, July 17 | 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, July 18 | 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

If you are looking for childcare during UC so you can enjoy the conference and have peace of mind about your children being taken care of, please check out KiddieCorp Childcare.
