I am trying to mosaic NEXRad radar data from 4 different radars in New England. I want a mosaic for multiple times during Tropical Storm Irene so that I can run PCA.
I am having difficulty finding an efficient way of making a mosaic of the radar data. I have attached a screen shot of what the data looks like when I load it into ArcMap and classify it (This was downloaded through the weather and climate tool kit and exported as an ESRI ASCII Grid file.
The issue with trying a mosaic is that there seems to be false values outside of the central sphere of the radar. These values interfere with the mosaic. I was able to extract the central sphere of the radar to avoid this problem, but it is a timely process when trying to do this for multiple radars at multiple times.
Any ideas?
