Good Evening T3G pals (via Geonet!)t-
First, THANK YOU to all of you, who over the years have helped me, and in doing so, helped my students with questions and problems of mapping and “saving the world”. I know I have benefited personally from my association with all of you, and I know my students have benefited from the collective wisdom of the group. Thank you!
Second, as many of you might remember from years past on the t3g listserv, I have shared our Woolner Family Christmas Card with you. As I can not send it to that list anymore, I will try a posting here on Geonet.
Some background. J-u-s-t before Thanksgiving 2016, our eldest daughter Victoria (and her friend David) acquired a dog. As a result, “Becks” featured prominently in that 2016 Woolner Christmas Card. My wife Laurel and I noticed the joy and fun that Becks brought to Victoria, and reminded us of our own past dog ownership. This past Spring, our younger daughter Antoinette (while visiting us in New Hampshire) persuaded Laurel to visit a local NH breeder, who just happened to have a litter of pups ready. One of them, a small red-collared male pup, looked us all over... and picked me.
Rusty is now a 10-month-old 64-pound pup, who is enjoying romps in the woods, stealing whatever is not nailed down, and loving everyone who comes within licking distance. 2 weeks ago, he enjoyed his first snowfall, and first branch of his first Christmas tree. And THAT is our card this year.
By the way, Antoinette and Victoria, and Laurel are all well.
Mandatory GIS Content- the tree was cut down from a nearby farm at 43 degrees, 04 minutes, 44.26 seconds north, 71 degrees, 46 minutes, 30.84 seconds west. Rusty pulled off a branch, and ran around in the backyard, and the photo was likely taken at 43 degrees, 07 minutes, 1.5 seconds north, 71 degrees, 53 minutes, 46.46 seconds west.

Some “real printed cards” are mailed / delivered by USPS. If you would like to be receiving hard copies, let me know, I can add you to that mailing list.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays 2017 to you all!
