Trying once again to create the Local Government Information Model in 10.1 to cover the entire United States using GCS NAD83.  Created a File Geodatabase titled LocalGovernment and assigned GCS NAD83 using X-Ray, populated the database from LocalGovernment.xml and validated.  Started a new map and attached the Parcel Fabric.  Changed the coordinate system to a projected state plane coordinate system including a transformation and tried to edit as per the 10.1 documentation. I received the error message:

Parcel Editor - The map and Parcel Fabric must be in the same datum.

Has anyone had any success using a parcel fabric in a geographic coordinate system?

Thanks,
John

The primary focus of the parcel fabric is it's ability to be both accurate and precise.  Therefore emphasis on the coordinate locations of the parcel points with respect to the large amount of processing that the parcel editor tools do in the background make it extremely difficult to edit a fabric across a transformation.  It may be available in the future, but as it stands now, it is recommended to project your data to what you'll be working with prior to loading to the fabric (IE Currently reprojecting a fabric is not supported.)
