I have configured the application to work with local data and local basemaps, but my geolocation is not working.  I hit the location button and it asks if I want to allow the application to track my location.   I accept this and then it never takes me to my location with no error.  If I am using my own local basemap do I need to do something to get the geolocation to work in Iowa state plane.

Hi Mark,

The initial release of the Parcel Viewer was targeted only for Web Map Mercator Aux Sphere. With an April 12th commit to the local-government-online-apps app on Esri's GitHub site, we added support for arbitrary coordinate systems, so now there's a conversion from the browser's geographic position to the basemap's coordinate system.

There was a window of time in which a faulty download appears to have been attached to the Parcel Viewer template, so please be sure that you are working with the latest version. Please also continue to use the s1/apps1/js1 (series 1) version--the series 2 version is under development.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks that took care of it.  I downloaded the new version and now everything is working.

Hi,

I'm using the Parcel Viewer template to search a map layer. I configured it as outlined in the article, but I don't have a search button to click in order to open a search box.

Am I doing something wrong? I don't see any option to add or remove the search button so am a bit baffled.

In fact, I can't view it on this Esri example either: http://www.arcgis.com/apps/Solutions/s2.html

I've tried a number of different browsers, just in case, and it made no difference.

It just has four widgets up the top: Current location, Switch basemap, Share and Print map.

I'm having the same problem, Clarie. Did you discover the problem and/or fix?
