Simple file geodatabase (.gdb) ArcCat 10.3.1 XRAY for geodatabases reorder fields works. Same file when using ArcCatalog 10.5 fails with lock error.

It does not matter if I check or uncheck the box 'Delete Existing Table/Feature Class

This seems to be a 'bug' in 10.5 and teh X-RAY extension which is other wise very handy.

Both Computers have Microsoft Office with Excel installed.

  1. Disable the extension
  2. Delete it from the Add-In Manager
  3. Close ArcCatalog
  4. Download and install the new add-in version
  5. Open ArcCatalog
  6. Enable the extension
