When I am doing event edits in RCE, I walk through the whole process to do a partial edit, and it doesn't save it. It says it does (the icon pops up in the bottom of the browser). But if I do a full length edit (from start of route to end of route) it saves it no problems. I'm using chrome and running 10.6.1 server.
