How to Import Arcpy in IronPython.net

Hi,

Can you please let me know if it is possible to use the Arcpy with IronPython.net? I would like to create a stand alone application(Out of ArcMAp) and it would be great if you let me know how I can do it with IronPython.net or any other python provider?

It doesn't look like it. The post is old  but check out Jason's reply on http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/21405-Arcpy-in-SharpDevelop-4.0. "Arcpy is built on arcgisscripting, which is in turn a CPython extension. You will no be able to use arcpy in IronPython."
