The John Jay College of Criminal Justice's Continuing & Professional Studies program is holding a training workshop from 7/6/21-9/16/21 on learning ArcGIS Pro and the Crime Analysis solution.

This training course will help crime analysts upgrade their existing user knowledge to ArcGIS Pro. Through case studies and hands-on exercises, attendees will learn the skills necessary to use ArcGIS Pro in completion of their crime analysis job functions. The training is meant for a wide range of GIS users, from novice users in their first crime analysis position to advanced analysts looking to transition their workflows from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro. The course will cover :

Geoprocessing and selecting data
Creating and modifying GIS files
Identifying and forecasting geographic hot spots
Automating common crime analysis tasks

The course instructor is Dr. Eric Piza, who is the lead author of a forthcoming book from Esri Press, Modern Policing using ArcGIS Pro. Students will receive an E-book copy as part of the course fees.
