Parcel Fabric Types not Showing in mxd

I have successfully migrated a test area of polygons into the parcel fabric. Before migration I added a "type" field to my source polygons and then calculated the value to "8" for ownership. I was able to migrate the parcels over, but now I do not understand how you get "Ownership" to show up as a sublayer in the parcel fabric mxd. I know the parcels migrated over, but I can't see them in my mxd. I thought it automatically would show up as a sublayer as long as they were typed. Any suggestions?

Hi Katherine. I'm guessing you need to change the definition query for one of the existing layers in your fabric MXD to be Type = 8. On the other hand, if what you have migrated are in fact tax parcels, then I would use the domain value for Type already designated for that. If that's the case, and you calculate the Type accordingly, your data will show up under the tax parcels layer in your MXD.
