Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone can elaborate on the benefits/drawbacks of checking out/in data as a shapefile as opposed to a .axf for mobile editing in ArcPad on a Trimble. I've always used ArcPad Data Manager and selected export as .axf for mobile editing, but a new project I am taking over manually moves shapefiles and doesn't use .axf, (which I learned the hard way after hours of trying to figure out where the .axf file was).
We are collecting biological data on invasive species presence and location of traps, its a very simple geodatabase. I'm trying to determine if I should continue to manually move shapefiles after new data has been entered or switch to .axf. I'm assuming our current method was used because of a lack of familiarity with the check in process and the lack of time to learn it.
I'm using ArcPAD 10.2, on a Trimble GeoTX and ArcMap 10.4.1.
Thank you in advance.
