Hi all,

I have a task of developing a geoprocessing tool that will help me generate layers of GIS polygons from points collected during deep-sea expedition(s) using Remotely Operated Vehicles as inputs . The polygon layers generated should act as a representative of showing the area of coverage and those that have not been covered during an expedition.

My question on this would be, what should I put in mind as I work on this. I appreciate your feedback.

--Thanks!

do you have a common factor to connect various points that should be included in the same polygon?

If you do then you can either create Theisen polygons or use the point to line tool followed by the line to polygon.

But if you do not have any data attached to your points that make them relevant to each other they you may be in for a rough time.

if your only talking a thousand points or so you can just draw the polygons.
