JP2 imagery displays using SDK 100.4 but not 100.8

We have a desktop application using 100.4 .NET SDK and a customer's aerial imagery displays just fine. When upgrading our application which uses 100.8, the customer's aerial imagery is not displayed. The customer stated they converted their imagery from JPEG2000 Part 1 to JPEG2000 GMLJP2, which now displays in the updated version of our application. I'm not having any luck finding much information on different types of JP2s, and why one type would work and one type would not. Anyone familiar with this?

To clarify, do you mean with the 100.8 release JPEG2000 GMLJP2 displays OK but JPEG2000 Part 1 does not display? 

It sounds like your customer has a viable alternative in their workflow, which would be recommended anyway soon because the JPEG-2000 part 1 is planned for removal from GDAL in a future release.
