Morning,
I have added metadata to a number of layers and exported these as xml files so that they can be imported to the same layers within future projects.
However, when I import the xml it imports as continuous plain text, no paragraphs, italics or bold characters.
I was wondering if there was a way to enforce the original formatting?
Hi @AndrewHankinson, thanks for posting the question. Can you please provide details regarding which metadata elements you have added formatting for?
Additionally, have you tried using the Save As > Save As XML option to save the metadata as ArcGIS Metadata XML and then importing it to the required item? Saving it as ArcGIS Metadata XML preserves some of the text formatting you may have applied.
Hi @VishweshS , I have created a number of ArcGIS Metadata XML files so I can import them as required. When I import an xml into a new layer what happens is any paragraphs, italics or bold lettering in the constraints and/or description are seemingly not retained and it is just continuous text.
To better understand your issue and provide a solution, could you please email us at metadata@esri.com with additional details? We’ll be happy to look into it further.
