Cross-posting question - Metadata in Pro vs Online vs Enterprise

I recently came across the following storymap about best practices for authoritative data and am curious about something with metadata. If sharing something from Arc Pro to Online or Enterprise, when is it best to create the metadata? Many times I have found that metadata from Pro does not always transfer to online so I wonder if it makes more sense to do the metadata online instead.

@JordanDuft I've had this same question before!

I usually would do metadata in Arc Pro first, then publish the service, and see what carries over to Online or Enterprise.

I know the metadata type you have set in Arc Pro determines a lot of what is carried over. I would suggest testing out different metadata types and how you want things to look in the web GIS to determine what to fill out.
