Hello,

I am having trouble placing labels into small polygons that are close from each other. I can offset the labels, but it is not very visually appealing.

I would like to offset the labels outside the polygon but make them point to the center of their respective polygons with a line. I need to keep that information and it needs to be accurate.

How would I do that?

Thank you!

Hi Gob,

Are you using ArcMap? Which version?

Either way, you might want to look into the Maplex Label Engine. Under the Customize Menu, go to Toolbars and choose Labeling.

Drop down the drop down list and choose Use Maplex Label Engine.

From here, take a look at this article on labeling polygons:

And then there is the tutorial if you aren't familiar with it

Hello!

So I finally found what I was looking for to solve my labelling problem. The only thing I was missing was the Labell style (Text Symbol). I chose "Bullet Leader" and it does what I want it to do.

Thank you!
