Kia Ora,

We are thrilled to announce the release of LocalMaps v3.1! This latest version is packed with new features and improvements designed to enhance your mapping experience and streamline your workflows.

We believe this new version will enable you and your end users to get the most out of the content you share. Please check the functionality matrix and start planning your move to the new version soon. You can find the technical requirements for the new version here. When you are ready, get in touch with your Account manager at Eagle and they will guide you through the next steps.

Missing any features from v2.3x?

Worry not! They are on our roadmap and will be part of upcoming releases. We encourage you to explore the new features through this demo instance. If you have any specific requirements or feedback, please let us know through localmaps@eagle.co.nz. Your input is invaluable as we continue to develop and refine LocalMaps.

Update on v2.3x

We will continue to support instances on v2.3x and release patches on a case-by-case basis (i.e., based on severity). Once we achieve parity in 3x, support for v2.3x will be discontinued, and we will request all clients to move to the new version. If you have any questions, please contact us at localmaps@eagle.co.nz.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for your continued support. We hope you enjoy using the new version and make the most of the functionalities and features it offers.

Best regards,

The LocalMaps Team

Hello all,

In the past few weeks, the Eagle team has been rigorously testing LocalMaps v2.3.2 to assess:
  a. The impact of upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise to version 11.3 on existing LocalMaps instances.
  b. The effects of upcoming updates in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on LocalMaps functionality.

a. LocalMaps v2.3.2 with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3:
Our tests indicate that upgrading to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 does not affect any components or content that are shared through LocalMaps v2.3.2. The Gallery, Viewer, and Administration panels are functioning as expected.

b. Accessing LocalMaps v2.3.2 through Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge 127:
We have also tested LocalMaps v2.3.2 with the new Chrome beta 127 and observed no differences in performance. We can confirm that the upcoming browser updates will not impact LocalMaps operation and functionality.

Testing on Other Versions:
Additionally, we conducted high-level testing on LocalMaps Gallery and Viewer for versions v2.3.1, 2.3, and 2.2 using Chrome beta 127. Our findings show no significant differences in any aspects.

Hope the above helps. If you or your organization encounters any issues, please contact us at localmapssupport@eagle.co.nz. We are happy to work with you in finding a solution and ensure a seamless experience with LocalMaps.

Kind regards,

LocalMaps Team | Eagle Technology

Morena LocalMaps Enthusiasts!

We are pleased to present you the beta version of our new LocalMaps v3.1! The new beta is packed with new features and enhancements that will take your mapping experience to the next level. Given below are some highlights in general.

🔍Enhanced UX and UI: The New LocalMaps design is based on Esri’s Calcite design system, giving users a seamless experience and improved accessibility options. v3.1 Viewer comes with a fresh, modern interface built on Esri’s Experience Builder. With the mobile-friendly design, the end user can access all the content and information from LocalMaps on the go from their mobile!

🛠Built with the latest architecture and framework: We have completely rebuilt the backend of v3.1 to take advantage of the performance, reliability, and security enhancements that modern frameworks provide. We’ve also focused on performance and reliability in the front end, leveraging the new Maps SDK for JavaScript v4 to decrease load times, allow advanced data display, and enhance interaction.

🗺Viewer widgets: New Viewer comes with the following widgets allowing the users to view, analyse and present data effectively.

  • Add data
  • Bookmark
  • Basemap
  • Elevation profile
  • Draw/measure (re-vamped)
  • Legend
  • Layer list
  • Print
  • Share (with simplified link options)
  • Save (with enhanced sharing of saved maps)
  • Switch Map

✍️Draw/Measure Widget: Our revamped Draw/Measure Widget allows you to draw on the map and measure distances and areas, making it easier than ever to interact with your maps. This new design is based on direct feedback from our users.

👩‍💻Social Logins: We’ve simplified the process of setting up social logins, so that you can allow your end users to sign in quickly and securely using Google, Facebook, or Microsoft accounts. We now allow your users to manage and delete their personal data through the new profile settings interface. And we have enhanced the functionality allowing users save and share their maps drawings, and favourite items.

🌟Viewer functionalities: We’ve enhanced both the admin setup interface, and the results display of Feature queries to help your users explore related data and help you integrate with other business systems. We’ve also improved support for Arcade expressions to allow you to display interactive, informative information popups.

🖌Customisable Themes: As an administrator, you can quickly tailor the look and feel of LocalMaps with our new preset theme options or extensively customise them to meet your organisation's brand and styling guidelines. One thing we hope you’ll love is our support for Google fonts for configuring typefaces for your Gallery and Viewer.

Please note that this is a beta version. While we've worked hard to ensure a smooth user experience, you may encounter some bugs or issues. We see this as an opportunity to improve and we would greatly appreciate your help in this process. Select, Reporting and Data sources are still being refined and developed which will be made available in coming months.

Feedback Button: We’ve added a new Feedback Button for you to share your thoughts and suggestions directly with us. As community members, your feedback will be invaluable in helping us refine and improve the application. Alternatively, if it is an idea, add on our page here for wider discussion.

We hope this will give you an opportunity to experience the new version and pass on your feedback. If you have any questions meanwhile, please let us know through localmaps@eagle.co.nz.

Happy exploring beta v3.1 🌟

Best regards,
