get rid of the "eyeball" thing in New Map Viewer layer list. I cautioned in a UX Lab at UC in 2014 it wasn't a wise user interface metaphor. Bring checks in checkboxes back by default. And partial state checkboxes for Groups when some sub items are visible but not all. Something I have been posting about for 15 years. it's easy. HTML. AGS JS TOC could do it in 2010 with the 3x api. ArcGIS Earth does it.
Stuff like this is why I've been ignoring the new map viewer and experience builder and will continue to as long as possible.
