digitizing work flow

What is the best workflow practice for digitizing lines and polygons? I am thinking of digitizing lines first in a couple of layers, then forming polygons by manually selecting lines. Would this approach work if I want to generate a polygon from two separate layers? Thanks

That should work. The Feature to Polygon tool allows for multiple inputs (e.g. line feature classes).
