Good evening,

I inserted an image below to help explain this. I'm using ArcGIS Pro 2.3.2. My goal is to use the geoprocessing toolbox or python to move thousands of points to the nearest endpoint of it's related line. I do not want to create an output to a new shape file, I want to move the existing point features.

I have a group of 3 lines and 3 points, with hundreds of these groups. Each point I'm manually moving to the nearest endpoint of it's related line. (Let's say the red point goes with the red line; the orange point goes with the orange line; the green point goes with the green line). Any idea on where to begin with this? I've looked into Near, Integrate, and Snap but I don't think those will work on the scale I need.

point to line endpoint

I'm just getting back into the ArcGIS world, so consider this a warm-up for me - also my first post to the GeoNet.

Thanks,

Aaron

Extend Line—Help | Documentation might cover some situations.  Be cautious, and work with copies since this tool edits existing files.
