Wrong Field aliases when Connecting to GDB in ArcGIS Pro

Question

When connecting ArcGIS Pro 2.1.1 to a File geodatabase on a network drive, the wrong (old) Field aliases are shown in the Feature Class. The Field Name is up to date.

But when opening the same Feature Class on the machine that created the File geodatabase, the correct Field aliases are shown?

All systems running ArcGIS Pro 2.1.1 on Win7.

The error was in the File Geodatabase.

Edit a field's alias using the Fields view did for an unknown reason not alter the geodatabase.

I exported the geodatabase XML workspace documents and used enterprise architect to update the field alias.

Introducing a network drive ups the number of possibilites, including not being an Esri issue.  If you copy the file geodatabases locally and open them, does everything show correctly?  Also, has the machine showing the wrong (old) field aliases loaded the data and then the aliases were changed on a different machine?
