Hello everyone,

How can I create OGC Web Feature Service (WFS)   and  OGC Web Map Service (WMS)?

Any manual that explain how to create these sevices using SDe layers.

Thanks

Once you have a map within ArcGIS Pro ready to share; Share a web map—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

You configure it to have WMS/WFS in the parameters; Configure a web map—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation  - Pick the type of layer you are publishing.

Hi

How do you set up privileges to restrict access to external users and grant access to internal users to this OGC Web Map Service (WMS)?

Thanks

Thank you George,

What is the difference between WMS and WFS?

I think of them like this:

WMS = Map Service (Images returned)

WFS = Feature Service (vector features)

OGC support in ArcGIS Enterprise—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise

  • Web Map Service (WMS) for serving collections of layers as map images
  • Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) for serving map layers as cached map tiles
  • Web Feature Service (WFS) for serving data as vector features
  • Web Coverage Service (WCS) for serving data as raster coverages
  • Web Processing Service (WPS) for serving geospatial processing

Please be sure to mark the response correct, if applicable.

Hi George,

How do we host a WMS  Map Service in  ARCGIS Online to host our data and provide the WMS interface?

Thanks

So it looks like you can do WFS / WMTS as a hosted feature layers; Publish hosted WFS layers—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation

I would also review this documentation:

Hosted layers—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation

OGC—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation

The other option is that you host the WMS./WFS layers in your ArcGIS Enterprise and register them as items within ArcGIS Online and share them out that way.

Hi George,

For the second option "host the WMS./WFS layers in your ArcGIS Enterprise and register them as items within ArcGIS Online or Portal". How do you grant access only to the organization or specific groups?  Using ArcGIS Online/Portal sharing privileges?

Share items—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation

Thanks

Jose

You would share the item within ArcGIS Online using the above link you referenced.
