I'm having some issues when trying to edit a feature class. I'm getting the error "Incorrect edit version type".
I'm using ArcMap (10.6.1) to edit. The sde connection is Oracle 11g and non-versioned.
When I remove the feature class from the topology I have no problem editing.
If I remove the feature class from the topology, then I re-add it I can edit without getting the error. However, if I close ArcMap then re-open, I have to remove the feature class from the topology and re-add it again to be able to edit.

Does anyone know if this is a bug? Or am I missing a setting?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

This is expected behavior; https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000011112

• The dataset participates in advanced geodatabase functionality (such as a topology/geometric network). The dataset must be registered as versioned to start an edit session within an enterprise geodatabase.

If you version the data or edit it in a file geodatabase, you should not have any issues editing.
