This table shows the current status of Utility Network Industry Configurations and data loading tools.  It will be kept up to date.

 

Resource specific data models for the utility network are contained in the corresponding Network Configuration.  For example, if looking for the water distribution data model for the utility network download the Water Distribution Data Management for ArcGIS Enterprise.

Hi,

I am looking for a Data Interop migration tool for Electric Transmission and Distribution as mentioned in the http://proceedings.esri.com/library/userconf/proc18/tech-workshops/tw_1771-55.pdf  

We have Electricity Distribution and Transmission lines and devices data in a Geometric Network and some relationship tables similar to "Containment" and "Attachment" associations. We would like to build a Utility Network with all 5 rule types and wondering if there is Work Bench or Data Interop tool available? At this time, we are not looking to build terminal level connectivity.

Vish,

   I have been working with Safe software and have a "beta" of the electric migration tools workbench.  As always, FME is a starting point just like the AssetPackage itself.  Having worked with FME for over 14 years, it will require someone with a very good working knowledge of the source and destination DM and FME, this is not going to be an OOTB solution but a starting point.  I have already built several workbenches to do this, Geometric Network to UN for both Gas and Electric, and each one turns out to be specific.  You can, and I have, created custom transformer that are generic, but as we all know, everyone does things "just a little bit differently".  But the tools will make this process easier than a lot of custom code.

Thanks for your reply. Where can I get this beta workbench? 

I have used FME / Data Interop for some time and have reasonable understanding. Have used SchemaMapper transformer to perform most source to destination ETL for feature classes, table and attributes including splitting features based on attributes, merging  features etc. With UN model, the data needs to be in Asset Package first in correct format and haven't mastered the Asset Package nuances just yet. And as always, there is a pressure to get the data in UN model quickly, So was wondering if I could use any pre-cooked models.

I just noticed that the UN for Electric (beta) is available for download as part of the course material of "FME Desktop 2018 Basic Course": FME Desktop 2018 Basic Course 

The button "Sample Data": https://s3.amazonaws.com/FMEData/FMEData2018.zip  will allow you to download a ZIP of 511MB. Inside the ZIP in the folder \FMEData2018\Resources\EsriUN\Basic\ you will find the workbench. It also provided access to the course material and recordings.

Remember that this is a beta version of the workbench for a basic migration.

Hi All,

Is there an updated set of migrations tools for the Water Utility Network Migration?

Currently with the Water Utility Network Migration, there seems to be a few miss-matches between the migration tool and the current Asset Package Template. (it looks like the Asset Package Template was updated recently?)

For example in "WaterSchemaMapper.xlsx" the "MATERIAL" field from the LGIM is being mapped to the 'AssetType' field of the Utility Network features. However it seems like it should be getting mapped to the "MATERIAL" field of the Utility Network.

Hi Jordan,

You are right, the latest Water Distribution asset package (v2.4) has shifted from "material" based assettype for lines to "delivery type" (e.g. Rural Service, Residential Service, Dist Main, Trunk main etc) based assettypes. "material" is now an attribute on its own for WaterLine. The FME tool has not been updated accordingly, and not sure if and when it will be. 

You probably need to reset the schemamapper spreadsheet to match the new model.

Thanks Vish, I really appreciate the response - it's good to know I'm not just missing something.

No problem I can update the schema mapper to suit, if there's any other gotchas you (or anyone else reading this) can think of - due to the difference between FME toolset and current Asset Package let me know!

Also, is there some kind of changelog somewhere which may have pointed this out?

Hi Vish,

To be sure. Do I understand it correctly that the water data model leaves material as asset type completely?

@Tom DeWitte, @Mike Miller, in the UPDM material is still an asset type.

What is the vision here for the gas data model? Is a sort of alignment on the roadmap?

Hi Barend,

Not sure what the plan is for APDM model but Water Distribution Asset Package's (v.2.4) WaterLine now has following asset groups.

And it has following asset types for Water Main and Service groups.

Water Main Asset Types

I personally think newer model is better as creating association and connectivity rules for each material based asset type is a lot of topology modelling work.
