Ivan Galenko. This was the fourth event I organized to demonstrate the capabilities of Esri’s ArcGIS technology, from which CyberDjura later grew. Around half a hundred presentations of the “Global Esri Project for the Modernization of School Education Worldwide” for school and university teachers, researchers, and officials at various levels had zero results. Even the military did not understand what it was about.
A round table at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on April 9, 2019: “New Information Technologies in Managing National Projects on the Example of the Military-Patriotic Game ‘Sokil’/‘Djura’: Practical Aspects.”
The keynote presentation was delivered by representatives of Esri Company: «Сокіл»/«Джура»: практичні аспекти.

Thank you for sharing this retrospective. Stories like this remind us that meaningful international partnerships are built over time, not overnight. The support of Esri, combined with the Ukrainian Academy of Geoinformatics' long-term commitment and consistent efforts, has laid a solid foundation for advancing GIS education in Ukraine. It is a privilege to be part of this journey and to see how the first ideas have evolved into impactful educational initiatives.
