Exercise 2A confusion: Getting to Know ArcGIS Pro 2.6 Kindle edition

I am confused... 

In the Getting to Know ArcGIS Pro 2.6 Kindle edition book:  Exercise 2a - step 3 has you open a map template.  Then says "You see an empty display area with a ribbon at the top."  That is not correct as you see a map.  Then it displays a Catalog View and has it labeled as the Map Display Area.  This is very confusing for someone familiar with Pro, or a new student. 

  

Step 3 should match what is provided in the map template and describe and show a map on the screen.
