About the book 'Getting to know web gis 4th edition‘ 's book resource

the data mentioned in th book no find in the downloaded  book resources take chapter 3 for example, there are no gdb nor *.mxd in *\chapter3

I don't have the book at hand but it appears to use ArcGIS Pro - there are ArcGIS Pro packages for download in chapter 4 and 5. The .mxd format is not used by ArcGIS Pro; it creates maps within a .aprx ArcGIS Pro Project file.
