CR is not persisted in Geoportal but is persisted in Geoportal XML editor

When clicking on the xml hyperlink of an item in Geoportal 2.6.5. The xml hyperlink removes all \r\n embedded in the text. The example I used was Lineage Statement. However if I open the metadata editor or ViewXML on Geoportal, the carriage return is preserved. How do I render an xml in Geoportal like the same way as it does in the metadata editor? i.e preserving white spaces and line returns. This problem can be reproduced using  the attached xml.

hi, since early 2024 we are stripping the HTML markup from the abstract as it is being rendered in the search results page. this will be part of the 2.7.2 release. Without a full CSS it is not possible to know how to render the HTML as intended by the author of the XML. Rendering HTML as-is creates potential vulnerabilities. This has led to the decision to strip HTML markup.
