Attribute Assistant toolbar with join fields

Good morning everyone,

Does the attribute assistant work with layers that are joined with attributes dynamically in the map. I would like to know if I can add a rule that imports a field from a layer in the map that is a joined field, not a field from the base feature class.

I tested this out and it appears that it's unable to pull from joined fields.
