Rebuilding an address locator without being the owner?

Is there any way to rebuild an address locator without being the owner? On the ArcGIS help 10.2, here, it only says you need write privileges.

The end goal is a python script to rebuild the address locator at some regular interval. To test it, however, I need to be able to run the rebuild tool in the first place.

I should note that the address locator is in an sde database currently; I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

You may to check with your SDE Administrator about permissions.  As I've been working more with SDE I've been surprised just how many types of operations trigger permission issues, whether an explicit warning or hidden.

For example, we're currently working with ESRI Support on why we can't rebuild an existing Street Network that resides in SDE with Network Analyst due to multiple permission issues.
