hallo,

I have a bathymetric map of the eastern mediterranean. in the image analysis i created a shaded relief map (layer) of the original map in gradient colors from red to blue and it was looking great (super sharp). suddenly, out of the blue the shaded relief map turned into only red. it's still sharp but i can see only the red color. nothing i tried to do worked, any other shaded relief i am doing now is extracting only with one color usually the first of the scale. i really don't know how to solve it or whta i have done toget to this situdation. all i know is i can't use the original map because it looks not good enough, not good resolution.

does anybody know how to fix this problem?

thanks a lot!

If you haven't done so, try creating a shaded relief in a new map document.  Is the problem still reproducible?

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, when i open a new map document the problem is reproducible. when i add the bathymetry raster map it appears as a white rectangle with black color in the edges, while at the first time i opened it the colors was gradual so you could see the map. Basically what happend, i think, is that there i no composition of the gray scale and only the white is seen. The same thing happens when i change to other colors. When i opened the map the values of colors was 3082 (white-High) and -2147483648 (black-Low). this is really strange to me and maybe the problem is here. only when i change in the sybology to unique colors the map is shown as in the first place. though as i make shaded relief to it it goes back to one color dominant color only.
*I also tried in other computers and the problem is still there. i think something change in the file itself

I would appreciate any help
