How to suppress the "rows selected" message in Oracle or Ms SQL

is there a way to suppress the last line of the result of a sql query in Oracle or SQL server?

480143 rows selected.

That's an RDBMS-specific feature of Oracle (SQL*Plus).  Your question asked about
SQL-Server as well, making me think you were using ArcGIS for the query.
