I would like to know if is it possible to pass z-values stored in a field (double) to the field Shape in a Z-enabled Feature Class preferably using the Field Calculator. If yes, could you post the expression that it is needed? I am using ArcGIS Desktop 10.1.

Thanks

The access point is generally from a surface and not a table Add Z Information—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

in 10.4 it is done with updatecursors UpdateCursor—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop which I think 10.1 had but you would have to check that help ArcGIS Help 10.1

Thanks Dan,

I will try the UpdateCursors functionality. In my case I have a Z-enabled feature class (points) whose Z values are 0. This same table has a numeric field with the elevation values.

You could use feature to 3d by attribute.

But can't remember if that was there in 10.1.
