I have run topologies in previous versions of Arc but now i am stuck trying to figure out how it works in Arc 10. I created the topology through Toolbox, added the datasets, set the cluster value, set the rules and then ran the validation. Well the results told me that there were no rule violations however I am skeptical because there is a difference between the area of the watershed layer and the area of my digitized land-use layer. I checked the properties of the topology file and there was nothing listed under the rules tab so I followed the steps again to create and set up a topology and again got no rule violations. And yet again I found no rules listed under the rules tab of the topology properties. So I went under the properties of the topology file in Arc Catalog and tried to add the rules there however the drop down menus for the list of rules are blank!! With the difference in area values I know there is something wrong and I really don't want to find out that I am correct after I input the land use file into a model and get errors. This was so easy in the previous versions of Arc and now it seems impossible to get it to work. If someone could assist me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
