Well, as the title says, I have a NAD 27 autocad drawing in Lat/lon, but I need to be able to convert it to state plains to be able to add detail of land plots in feet, then back into lat/lon again as needed.

Can Archmap do this? I've been banging my head on this for over a day already.

When I add data to the default map, it says I'm missing spatial info, even though there is points there based on GPS lat/lon information.

Whats the best way to try to do this? Do one do this in the "view -> data frame properties" dialog box?

I think you just need to define the coordinate system (projection) for the CAD file. You'll want to use NAD 1927 which is in geographic coordinate systems, North America. (depending on your version, it might be called North American 1983)

See Defining a coordinate system for a CAD dataset.
