Hi,
I have just upgraded to using ArcGIS10 and all was going great until I tried to create a line in my newly created shapefile. Is there a way to dock the pencil in the editor toolbar and have it immediately active by clicking on it instead of having to open the screen-hogging "create feature" window on the right and then clicking on the feature I want to edit?
I read an earlier thread that discussed how this was changed so that if you only want to edit attributes it is easier this way. So far, I'm thinking the way it worked in 9.2 was much simpler and quicker than this, but maybe I'm not aware of quite how to use 10.

If anyone could help, I would so appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hello,

I personally enjoy using 9.3 classic style of editing and snapping when doing heavy editing. I am not sure if you aware of that, but here are the instructions how to bring the classic editing style in ArcGIS 10.
