This is the end of a challenging year for those of us who work in conservation. It's a tough calling, most of the news is bad, most of the time the odds are against us. Today the folks helped start the Society for Conservation GIS gave California and the world the incredible gift of protecting 24,000 acres of central california coastline, one of the last great stretches of undeveloped coastal wildlands.
