Our company has an ArcGIS online account we use to enter data from the field, via Collector, and to integrate with our GIS environment. What we would like to do is also access this information, and other webmap services created in ArcGIS Online, from our CAD environment (specifically AutoCAD/Map 3D/Civil 3D). We did try going through technical support and seeing if this could be accessed using ArcGIS for AutoCAD but it doesn't have the capability (Esri Case #01996591). Is this something that could be easily added to in the future?
Jon,
That's an interesting question and I'm not sure where you would find the best answer. I am tagging these groups to hopefully get more visibility:
Add my vote for this functionality. The ability to access hosted layers from ArcGIS Online or Portal would be an important feature to allow us to fully implement ArcGIS for AutoCAD into our workflows.
If this is something that is not implemented and not on any road map, I'd suggest adding it to the https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=7c96c64f-55e7-40cc-a97b-a937e8a... area.
Anyone know if this has been addressed yet? We are trying to use ArcGIS for CAD to connect to ArcGIS Online hosted feature services.
Thanks!
Todd
Hi all,
This is still something that is under consideration. If you'd like to raise awareness, I invite you to contact Esri Support Services to get added to the enhancement log:
ENH-000088243: Allow for services published to an ArcGIS Online organization to be consumed in ArcGIS for AutoCAD.
Kind regards,
Earl
How can i support this enhancement, this would be a very good improvement.
Thanks for the nice comments! We agree that this is critical functionality. Support for Map Layers and Feature Layers on AGOL and portals is planned for the next release of ArcGIS for AutoCAD.
This is excellent, thank you!
Yes Karen, completely agree that would be an excellent improvement, can you offer a rough ETA on next release of ArcGIS for AutoCAD?
Thanks!
