Attribute Rules Validation Error Numbers Reference?

I'm working with the Utility Network solutions for Sanitary Sewer and Water.  I'm creating custom validation rules.  I found only one validation rule came with the Utility Network solution for Sanitary Sewer ("Device - Check Pipe Connection"), and it uses error number 5001.

Is there an Esri reference for validation rule error numbers?  Is there a recommended range of numbers to use for custom validation rules?

The error number is completely up to you.  I think we used errors in the 5000 range as they do not overlap with core error codes.
