Due to memory and cpu limitations on  the trimble geo xh 2005 series receivers causing slow performance , I have installed arcpad on a laptop and output gps  via bluetooth from the geo.
Is anybody doing this?  What issues did you run into?  I do not have a rugged laptop and am concerned about that.  Anything else I need to consider before taking it out in the field?

Chris,

I've successfully routed the GPS to an outgoing bluetooth port on a GeoXH via the GPS Connector and consumed it on a laptop.  I haven't done more data collection that collecting a few points in the parking lot, but it seemed to work fine.  The GeoExplorer series are the only Trimble devices which have the GPS Connector which allow you to send the GPS signal to an outgoing COM port.
