Hello,

I just got myself a used PDA (Fujitsu Pocket Loox N560, Windows Mobile 5) intending to use it with ArcPad. I installed ArcPad but it works so slow that it is useless. I saw from other Threads that other people are also using ArcPad on this device so it seems to work for them. So I wonder if the PDA is broken or am I just doing something wrong. I created a new project and added 38 georeferenced aerial photos (41 MB altogether including the .aux, .jgw files that came with the pictures, didn't include the.rrd files because they are so big) and one shapefile (about 11 MB). Now the PDA works great at a normal speed until I start ArcPad. It takes several minutes to load the project, and I get two types of error messages "Corrupt JPEG data: found marker 0xd9 instead of RST0" and "Premature end of JPEG file". The jpegs work on my computer and are not corrupt. I don't know If the error messages have anything to do with the problem but it is almost impossible to use ArcPad because it takes the PDA minutes to react to any commands. I sometimes  also get an error message from Windows that there is a Problem with gwes.exe. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I just created a new map without adding any layers and ArcPad works perfect, I can go through any menu create new shapefiles, create polygons and so on. Then I added the (polyline) shapefile that I mentioned in the first post and it still works. It is the jpeg data that are slowing him down. Could the PDA just be too slow to manage 31MB of jpegs in ArcPad?
