I received this ppkx file and I can't seem to add it to ArcMap.  Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong or if I can change this ppkx to a shp or another file? I tried my Geo Data Converter, but it doesn't have an option for a ppkx file.

Hi @Calva_Mapper ,

The ppkx is a Project packages (.ppkx file)  that can be used with ArcGIS Pro. A project package is a file that contains all maps and the data referenced by its layers, as well as folder connections, toolboxes, geoprocessing history, and attachments.

Please refer to this link for more info: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/sharing/overview/project-package.htm

Cheers,
Manish

This is one of those things that is on the Pro side. You can import ArcMap layers and mxds into Pro but it's a one-way trip.

However if you load the ppkx into ArcGIS Pro, you will have access to the geodatabase feature classes and tables it uses, which could be accessed from ArcMap or copied to another database for access from ArcMap.
