A suggestion : Mesurements labels are not always very legible, i think it would be useful if you could add controls for the TextSymbol properties : border, borderColor, background and backgoundColor.

The old 1.x version of this widget was using a custom circle drawtool and had the ability to display the circles radius when drawing, now that I an using esri's standard drawtool (because it now supports circles and ellipses) we have lost that ability to display the radius when drawing circles.

Robert, I might have found a little bug.
After I've drawn a polyline and want to draw another polyline, I click the icon but now the drawtool isn't a polyline but just a line. But if I click antother icon and then click the polyline icon again then the drawtool will be a polyline again. This behavior is the same in your sample in the code gallery, maybe you want it that way, but to me it doesn't make sense, so I looked at the code and found out that:
when enterstate drawToolsLine DrawTool.POLYLINE is passed to the activateDrawTool function.

but when the image is clicked DrawTool.LINE is passed to the activateDrawTool function.
<mx:Image click="{(currentState == 'drawToolsLine')?activateDrawTool(DrawTool.LINE, null):currentState = 'drawToolsLine'}" ......

I guess it's supposed to be the same in both these cases, DrawTool.POLYLINE if that is the expected tool. I changed the code to this and it works as I want it to.
Just wanted to report this because to me it looks like a typo or something like that...

Hi Robert! Thanks for the Enhanced Draw Widget! I suppose I should should thank you for the trouble its causing me of late

. Actually, I have a questions... We're working on some Fire zones and one of the Firechiefs went through the trouble of using the Enhanced Draw Widget to mark-up an online service and now the issue is we need to get this into ArcGIS Desktop so we can create these zones he added via the draw widget. He saved it as a graphic layer and I can load it up in the map service but not in ArcMap gives me an error there... Is there anyway to load this in ArcMap? Export? Hate for him to do all that work then have to do it over again. Let me know if I'm missing something...

Well... I got to say I was not expecting this one. Currently there is no way for you to do this, but if you send me the file I will see what I can do. Depending on how difficult it is I may add a shapefile export or just develop an ArcMap Addon for this.

I tried to add some multi query to the enhanced search widget but it does not work well. What I did was to write the codes like these repetitively:

            <expression useforspatial="true">pid like '[value]%'</expression>

            <expression useforspatial="true">county like '[value]%'</expression>
            <textsearchlabel>Search Benchmarks by county... [ Example: Orange ]</textsearchlabel>

I was trying to let users query on pid and county. Anyhow, it turns out the wrong way. Does any one know the right way to do it? I just wanna do query on different fields of one layer.

I would appreciate any help.

You will have to do this in the code. Look for the ColorPicker and set it's selectedColor.

Do have any plans to add, or have you experimented with, supporting the ability to move the graphics in the enhanced draw widget? I have tried adding this using object handles, but I am getting a few errors which seem to reference either a null object reference with the gra.geometry.type or Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert com.roguedevelopment.objecthandles::VisualElementHandle@afce479 to com.esri.ags.Graphic. Either way I was curious if you have done any work in this area. I cannot re produce the errors consistently enough for debugging. Sometimes it works and sometimes it fails. I know it is possible without object handles, but it seemed like a viable option for this.

This would be great for fine tuning the placement of text in relation to the shapes. The ability to rotate the graphics (text) to best placement along a line for example. In our organization the graphics are heavily used for various reasons, editing will take away from this to some degree, and our users don't always take into account how the graphics or text markup will fall in relation to various layers that may be on or off at that time(unchecked or scale dependent). In our current version (based on 1.x) we added basic support for this using the redlinegraphics sample from the code gallery + your draw widget as a base. I was trying to use object handles to add the ability to move + rotate the graphics layer.

2.2 * Is basically a redo of this widget starting with the FlexViewer 2.2 version of the draw widget and then backed out some localization code to make it where I could use the same code base for the 2.1 and 2.2 compiled versions. All my additional functionality was added back to the base draw widget. So basically no new improvements except for those the esri introduced, like moving, rotating, scaling graphics.

Good work on adding the ability to label points using different projections. All of my data is State Plane but most of my users don't understand that and they want Lat-Lon, so now they have it.

I have two issues.

One - after measurements are turned on, any point added still has measurements even after they have been turned off again. This is only a minor inconvenience, but a bug nevertheless.

Two - the DMS label uses '' for minutes and ' for seconds and I always use the reverse of that, ie ' for minutes and '' for seconds. I changed this in my mxml file and you might have had a reason for doing it that way, it just seemed backward to me.

Enough complaining. I must repeat, GREAT WORK!!!

Robert -- Great improvements to an already wonderful widget.

I wanted to make a few modifications and have spent the past 6 hours messing with it, getting about a 33% success rate. Being a complete noob to Flash or any other programming, I have been attempting many things on my own in order to learn. Various co-workers have been stopping by and telling me to give up!!! So here I am....

First, I am attempting to add NAD38 CONUS to the list of point units. I simply added
<pointunit abbr="nad83dd" wkid="104223">Decimal Degrees (NAD83 CONUS)</pointunit>
for decimal degrees, and it... works. Should this work or am I missing a huge step?

If the above is wrong, this next one is probably way off...

Second, I'd like to add the DMS version of the above. In looking at your code modifications in the xml and mxml, I am making a rather large assumption. Since I cannot find reference to any of your default "abbr" values other than "wgs84dms" in the mxml, that is the only value that is used. It also appears that the //Compute degrees, minutes and seconds: code is just a general conversion, not tied to any specific GCS or Projection. I just changed the abbr value to "alldms" and made the same change to my xml for both the wgs84dms and my new nad83dms abbr values. Is this completely wrong?

Last -- is there ANY way to add decimal places to the Decimal Degrees text (show measurements)?

1. Yes it is that simple
2. Your way is fine but you could of just added abbr="wgs84dms" to what ever WKID that is returning decimal degrees
3. Is only doable right now in the code.

Yep the default value is suppose to be overwritten by the config file. Are you not experiencing this behavior or are you just confirming?
