Me again!!

My (military) customer is very impressed with the flex app i have created so far and have asked me to introduce aerial imagery. No problem, but they also want gridlines to be added as another layer which they can turn on or off as required.

I can do this in arcmap via the dataframe properties / grids tab - although these are only visible in layout view, so i am trying to work out if the same can be achieved in flex, or even if there is a way to add these as a layer in arcmap itself so I can then simply export that as a mapservice and use it as a layer in flex.

I have hunted around and found a thread discussing a GP tool, but it doesnt look as if this will solve my issue as this is more intended for printing rather than responding to zoom, pan etc.. in a flex app.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Graham,

Have you looked at the MGRS widget?

Even if it is not what you are looking for exactly it demonstrates how to add grid lines in Flex.

hi,

I have this working, but the gridlines do not project accurately for my maps. I am sure this is because I have changed the gridlines widget to use wgs84 (which is the closest i can get to british national grid), but my maps use british national grid.

is there an easy way to convert wgs84 projection to british national grid. The particular projection i need is not an option in the api calls used in the widget (i would post code snippets but i have to post on this forum from a machine other than my own).

Hope this makes sense and someone can help?

cheers
